Kalilangan Festival 2010 – Day 4 Highlights

Our Kalilangan Festival experience in the City of Generals was reaching its climax when Orman and Avel brought us to Marasa Grill, one of GenSan’s gastronomic pride. The place is owned and managed by Orman’s good friend, Ms. Kring Macion.

GenSan bloggers Sheng Dumalay and Ate Jinky Borela were also around along with their respective husbands, Ric and Kuya Arnel. They had in tow, travel bloggers from Manila led by dong ho.

Just like in the previous days… our day started with food, food, and more food. :-D

Kalilangan Festival 2010 – Day 3 Highlights

Day 3 of our Kalilangan 2010 experience began with a magnificent early lunch at Mt. Sabrina in Tambler Hills, GenSan.

Having been told that the place is owned by GenSan’s queen of tuna cuisine, I knew we were in for a delectable treat and boy, was I not mistaken. Of course, it helps that I have tried Mrs. Sol Mananquil’s famous tuna dishes before at JAMS Resto Bar.

When food was served, our group devoured — yes, devoured — the Nilagang Baka, Grilled Tuna Belly, Grilled Panga, and Steamed Pompano that was laid before us. Who wouldn’t? Just check out the yummy photos below.

One of the stops we made in GenSan was at JAMS Resto Bar. Located at Nuñez St., Purok Malakas,  JAMS is the place to go if you want to sample tuna in different delectable dishes. Name it and you can be sure that they have it!

Our group feasted on Tuna Kinilaw, Tuna Bagaybay, Grilled Tuna Belly, Sauteed Tuna Innards, Sizzling Tuna Tendons, Tuna Kilawin, Tuna Kebab, and Deep Fried Tuna Buntot with Tuna Chicharon.

Dolores Tropicana Resort’s 10th Bikini Open

It’s summer in this part of the world and what better way to usher in the fun than to hold a Bikini Open, yes? GenSan’s finest hotel resort, Dolores Tropicana, did just that as it held its 10th Bikini Open last April 18.

Davao blog guru Blogie Robillo and Doc blogger Jim Haw were invited as judges by GenSan’s premiere summer destination. Having developed a special affinity for the Tuna Capital of the Philippines since childhood, I made sure to tag along. Brendel, Chattee and Angel were also in tow.
