Alor’s: A Home Kitchen
Oct 3rd
Whenever my good friends Avel and Orman are in town, I drop whatever it is I’m doing and head out immediately to meet up with the fat and fab brothers from GenSan.
And every time we’re out, we’re almost always at a restaurant. Yes, food is best enjoyed with great company.
One of the few restaurants we’ve been to lately is Alor’s: A Home Kitchen.
Pepper & Peppers
Feb 26th
One of the best things about Davao City is its abundance of restaurants, big and small, specializing in a myriad of dishes prepared to tickle the most discerning palates. And Pepper & Peppers, a small food establishment along Jacinto Extension, is no exception.

Steaks, Grilled Ribs, Mongolian Barbecue, Kebabs, and Refreshing Halo-halo — All in General Santos City
Oct 16th
Whenever I’m in General Santos City, there are always new restaurants to try out. So during my most recent trip to the Philippines’ Tuna Capital, I visited 5 restaurants – all of them I’ve never been to even if I’m in GenSan every 3 months or so.
Harvey’s
According to our hosts Avel and Orman, this unassuming restaurant along J. Catolico Avenue serves the best grilled ribs in GenSan. Harvey’s, owned by Malot Veneracion and Bidot Calma, takes pride in serving juicy old-fashioned ribs fresh off the grill.
GenSan’s Grandest Tuna Festival Yet
Oct 12th

Noted for its yellow-fin tuna, General Santos City or GenSan to its residents, is the Philippines’ Tuna Capital being the largest producer of export-quality, sashimi-grade tuna in the country. Every September, the city celebrates the Tuna Festival as an homage to the industry that drives and sustains its local economy.
For two years now, I have personally experienced GenSan’s Tuna Festival and I must say that every time, the festival gets better and grander but not necessarily ostentatious. Credit goes to the local government of GenSan and the city’s chamber of commerce.
California Berry is Heaven in a Cup
Aug 14th
Ever since I got hospitalized due to gastritis a few months back, I have made it a habit to eat healthy food whenever I can.
So when Andrew told me that California Berry invited us to sample their yogurts, I made sure to find time to visit their store at the 2nd floor of Gaisano Mall of Davao.
Wings and Dips
Jul 24th
The next time I crave for chicken wings, I now know where to go. Because last week, I was at Wings & Dips, a newly-opened diner along Mabini Street that specializes in fried chicken wings and pasta.
At Wings & Dips, my blogger friends and I tried their all-in-one wings and pasta meals as suggested by owner Andrew Azarias.
Pablo’s Lunch Buffet
Jul 21st
A few days ago, I and a number of blogger friends were at Pablo’s Steakhouse to try the restaurant’s Lunch Buffet.
There, we were treated to a spread of mouthwatering dishes which included baked potatoes, liver & bacon pasta, prawns thermidor, Iberian chicken, sweetened crabs in olive oil and garlic, and baby back ribs.
SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari – Day 2 Highlights
May 31st
Day 2 of the SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari began with a hearty breakfast at Dolores Farm Resort. Everyone was upbeat and excited in spite of the sun reminding everyone what the word “summer” meant.
Shortly after breakfast, the group toured the farm’s mini zoo. I thought it was going to be just like any other zoo tour but one horny monkey proved me wrong with his public exhibition that is too NSFW to describe.
