SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari

SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari

If you are a regular reader of this blog. You may have noticed that a good number of posts here are about General Santos City. What can I say, I’m in love with GenSan and its people.

Credit goes to the SoCCSKSarGen Bloggers specially the Manansala siblings, Avel and Orman. They really know what hospitality means. I’m even beginning to think that they invented the concept.

For the nth time, I’m in GenSan once again to participate in the biggest food appreciation tour of Mindanao. The event, however, started yesterday in Davao with us, Davao Bloggers, hosting the bloggers of Cagayan de Oro in a sumptuous lunch at Ranchero Grill where we feasted on seafood, baby back ribs, and fried chicken among others.

After thanking our lunch sponsor, we headed to the Davao Overland Transport Terminal and boarded a bus to General Santos City for the continuation of the Mindanao Food Appreciation Tour.

The 2nd leg of the tour is called, the SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari,”  where bloggers from Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and SoCCSKSarGen will be touring GenSan’s and Lake Sebu’s gastronomic and adventure destinations.

We arrived around 6PM and were welcomed with refreshments and appetizers at the Pacman Sports Bar. Yes, the people’s champ and his wife sponsored our welcome drinks and appetizer.

For dinner, we headed to Le Jardin Arnevel, the biggest and most popular catering service in GenSan, where the owner, welcomed us with a scrumptious Filipino feast.

The final stop for Day 1 of the SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari was at Piyesta KTV and Resto Bar. General Santos City Mayor Pedro “Jun” Acharon welcomed the bloggers with Lechon while Piyesta owner and fellow blogger, Donna Mae Congson served her signature drinks, Gayuma and Jell-O shots along with generous servings of Kura Sticks, Crispy Tuna Buntot, and Sizzling Ubol-ubol. Local bloggers came over and joined us for a meet and greet.
