Our second day in General Santos City was a free day, we didn’t have any event to attend or tasks to do. Festival director Orman O. Manansala made sure we had a free time to enjoy the city and its surrounding provinces.

Avel‘s friend, Francis Sablon of Zion Travel, hosted our group to lunch at the very popular Nadies Chicken Hauz in Tupi, South Cotabato.

After the delicious chicken barbecue lunch, Francis took us to Apareja Buko Halo-Halo in Koronadal City to cool down. Apareja’s halo-halo is very good. I think the secret to their halo-halo is the fresh fruits that are newly harvested and prepared on the spot. They also make their own ingredients.

After that fun and filling food trip in Tupi and Koronadal, our group traveled back to GenSan to meet-up with Ria who spent time with her GenSan-based cousins.

At Robinson’s Place GenSan, we snacked on Ice Crops’ cheesy bacon melt which is heavenly. Be sure to drop by Ice Crops when you are in GenSan. Thanks to Orman for the tasty treat.

For dinner, GenSan’s power duo Avel and and Orman brought us to O-oh lang Fishing Resto & Seafoods Grill. If you love seafood, then O-oh lang Fishing Resto is the place to be. Their karagatan soup is a must-try along with their Nilasing na Oohlang, Pinaputok na Hipon, and Seafoods Casserole.

Day 2 in GenSan was all food, food, and more food. But I’m not complaining. =)
