JAMS Resto Bar
One of the stops we made in GenSan was at JAMS Resto Bar. Located at Nuñez St., Purok Malakas, JAMS is the place to go if you want to sample tuna in different delectable dishes. Name it and you can be sure that they have it!
Our group feasted on Tuna Kinilaw, Tuna Bagaybay, Grilled Tuna Belly, Sauteed Tuna Innards, Sizzling Tuna Tendons, Tuna Kilawin, Tuna Kebab, and Deep Fried Tuna Buntot with Tuna Chicharon.

After the sumptuous dinner, we sang the night away at the al fresco videoke bar of JAMS Resto.
Owned and managed by Mrs. Sol Manangquil, GenSan’s queen of tuna cuisine, JAMS Resto Bar also serves premium steaks and other fine cuisines. For inquiries and reservations, you may call them at (0917) 708-1693 or (083) 553-2763.

During my last trip to General Santos City, I stayed at the Ice Castle Experience, the tuna capital’s first and only themed hotel. Hotel owner, Mr. Rey Billena, partnered with Avel Manansala and Orman Manansala of the SoCCSKSarGen Bloggers and generously offered to be our official residence for the duration of the SoCCSKSarGen Summer Safari.

Our Kalilangan Festival experience in the City of Generals was reaching its climax when Orman and Avel brought us to Marasa Grill, one of GenSan’s gastronomic pride. The place is owned and managed by Orman’s good friend, Ms. Kring Macion. GenSan bloggers Sheng Dumalay and Ate Jinky Borela were also around along with their respective husbands,

Day 3 of our Kalilangan 2010 experience began with a magnificent early lunch at Mt. Sabrina in Tambler Hills, GenSan. Having been told that the place is owned by GenSan’s queen of tuna cuisine, I knew we were in for a delectable treat and boy, was I not mistaken. Of course, it helps that I

If you are from Davao, you have probably dined at or, at the very least, heard of Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. We went there a few days ago for lunch. I had their bestseller, the Unforgettable Pork Ribs. I’m not really a fan of pork but this one I really enjoyed. For pasta lovers, there’s

Everytime I receive a travel invitation to the Tuna Capital of the Philippines from GenSan’s numero uno blogger, Avel Manansala, I can’t help but get excited. I’ve always had a special affinity to GenSan and its people. This year alone, I’ve been to GenSan at least 4 times already. Of course it helps that GenSan

I have very simple tastes when it comes to accommodations. Each time I have to stay in a hotel, my requirements are simple: I want an affordable and clean room with an equally clean toilet and bath — that’s it. Imagine my delight when our group were shown to our rooms at the Tierra Montana Hotel
Plurkfiesta GenSan-Style

I have always admired how the ‘Generals’ do plurkfiestas. So, when Avel of BarilesRepublic.com said there was going to be a plurkfiesta around the time I and a small group of Davao bloggers will be in the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, I was thrilled. You see, plurkfiestas of the GenSan variety aren’t just your
