Compulsive Need to be Online Now Classified as an Illness
Attention plurkers, bloggers, and cybernuts. You might want to stay away from China for now lest you be the subject of an “addiction intervention.” Just recently, Chinese doctors have officially defined internet addiction as an illness.
Symptoms of this newly defined illness include being online for six or more hours everyday, poor sleeping habits, inability to concentrate, mental distress, irritability, and “yearning to be online.”
I’m pretty sure I and every blogger and plurker I know are certifiable. So, who’s in for group therapy?
